WIGGINS — Stone’s last loss on the baseball diamond came on the road to Long Beach two weeks ago.
On Saturday, though, the Tomcats notched their fifth straight win, and in the process also gained a bit of revenge for that last loss to the Bearcats.
Home-standing Stone slipped past LBHS 4-1 to move to 9-4 overall, after starting the season off at an even 4-4. The Bearcats fall to 3-11, but have rallied a bit after an 0-8 start.

Tomcat standout Kellan Burge blasted a two-run home run to center field with no outs in the bottom of the fifth to break open a close 2-1 game and give Stone the win.
His big hit, combined with a two-run home run by Brax Batson in the first frame, was more than enough support for a trio of Tomcat pitchers who combined to allow just four hits and the lone run in the win.
Ayden Obenhauser started and worked the first four innings to pick up the win, before Burge tossed two frames and Carter Williams finished up.

Landon Carden took the loss.
Stone starts Region 4-5A play against Purvis this week, while the Bearcats begin Region 4-6A action against Hancock.
