BAY ST. LOUIS — Visiting Biloxi swept a pair of games from Bay High at the Tigerdome Wednesday night.
In the girl’s game, which pitted a pair of pretty impressive squads so far in the young campaign, Biloxi pulled off a 31-16 win while in the boy’s game the Indians trampled the Tigers 66-31.
It marked the second time this season that the pair of Biloxi teams had came into the Tigers home den and swept two games. In the first game of the night on Wednesday, Biloxi got nine points and 11 rebounds from freshman center Zaniya Johnson in the winning effort to move to an impressive 10-1 overall. Aubrey Hill added seven points and also had three steals and a pair of assists, while Amari Meredith chipped in six points for the Lady Indians. The game was close throughout the first half, as Biloxi led just by a point at 13-12 at halftime. However, the Lady Indians held BHS scoreless in the third frame and to just four points in the fourth period to pull out the win.

The Lady Indians were coming off a 49-29 over Brandon Saturday at the annual Mississippi/Louisiana Challenge at Harrison Central High School in yet another game that the 6-foot center Johnson came up big in as she registered a double-double with 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and also recorded four blocks in the win.
Kiara Burney had five points for the Lady Tigers, as Bay High dropped to 7-3 overall with the loss.

Next up for the Lady Indians is a trip back home where they open up Region 4-7A play against D’Iberville on Friday night, while the Lady Tigers will face their second straight stern test as they travel to rival and unbeaten Hancock on Saturday night.

In the boy’s game, the Indians of veteran head coach Seber Windham improved to 6-3 overall with their second straight win.
Biloxi got off to a hot start in the contest, taking a 24-4 lead after the first quarter and coasting to the win.
The Indian dynamic duo of Dayshawn McGee and Reggie Connor combined for 15 of those 24 points in the opening stanza, as McGee nailed a pair of 3-pointers and had eight points and Conner added seven points including a trey of his own. Just for good measure, D’Marion Hayes chipped in five points of his own as the Indians dominated from the beginning.

The lead grew to 40-13 at halftime, as McGee added five more points in the second quarter.
R.J. Adelphin tallied a game-high 15 points, all coming on five 3-pointers, to lead Biloxi in scorings. 12 of his points came in the second half. McGee finished the night with 13 points, while he and Conner sat out most of the second half.
Jaylen Antoine paced the Tigers with 13 points while Nehemiah Sowders added eight points.
The Biloxi boys join their female counterparts in heading back home to face D’Iberville to start league play Friday night. The Indians were also coming off a win in the Mississippi/Louisiana Challenge in Lyman Saturday, as they beat Brandon 58-52. Conner and McGee also led the way for BHS in that win, as Conner tallied a game-high 21 points and McGee chipped in 12 points.
