Ten was the end for the Ocean Springs boys’ basketball team Friday afternoon.
The Greyhounds saw their 10-game win streak snapped by a powerful Montgomery Bell Academy team out of Nashville, Tenn., with a 63-54 decision in second-round play of the Big Orange Classic in Hoover, Ala. Ocean Springs drops to 12-3 overall, and will play for third place in the prestigious event Saturday afternoon in the consolation round.
Elihah Isom and Kaleb Bradley each scored 14 points apiece to lead OSHS. Maddox Noblitt, who had a game-high 27 points in the tourney-opening win on Thursday, notched just 10 in the loss. Nolan Wells added eight for the Greyhounds.

Elsewhere, a pair of Ocean Springs’ Region 4-7A foes found the going much easier in second-day play of the holiday tourneys they were competing in, as home-standing Biloxi thumped Holy Spirit Academy out of Tuscaloosa, Ala., 72-22 Friday afternoon in the Lady Indians Christmas Classic.
The Indians are now 13-4 overall, after getting 14 points from Dayshawn Mcgee in the win while Reggie Connor added 9 points and Keontae Beasley came off the bench to score 10 points in the winning effort.
Biloxi will be back in action Thursday with a trip to the Kiln to face the home-standing Hancock Hawks.

Also on Friday afternoon, the Harrison Central Red Rebels picked up their second straight win in the Gulf Coast Christmas Classic taking place at Springhill College in Mobile, Ala. Harrison Central nipped Christian City Cristian High out of New Orleans, La., 52-50 in exciting fashion in semifinal play and in the process earned a trip to the tourney title tilt on Saturday.
Harrison Central trailed 48-43 with about two minutes to play, but the Red Rebels closed the game on a 9-2 run to pull out the thrilling win.
Nehemiah Barnett scored the game-winning basket in the waning seconds of play for HCHS. Shaun Murray also scored a late basket and had a pair of free throws in that game-closing spurt for HCHS.
Also, in addition to Ocean Springs, another Region 4-7A team fell as St. Martin lost to Pearl River, La., on Thursday 50-49 in the Pearl River Central Tournament in Carriere. The Yellow Jackets got 12 points from Kai Vieira and 11 points from Tony Mora while Ty’Lah Whitlock posted a double-double in the loss with 10 points and 11 rebounds and Tyson Walker added nine points for SMHS.
