The girls’ teams from both Pascagoula and Gulfport picked up big wins in tournament action on Saturday.
The home-standing Lady Panthers closed out the annual Raising Canes Panthers Classic with a 55-41 win over Baker High out of Mobile, Ala., Saturday night. Meanwhile, the Lady Admirals nipped Northeast Lauderdale 52-51 in the Girls Rock Shootout at Meridian High School.
.Gulfport moved to 3-13 on the season with the win, but the Lady Admirals have won two of their past five games as they look to get back into Region 4-7 play this week.

Shamyia Walker enjoyed an outstanding game in the exciting win for Gulfport Saturday, as he posted a triple-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 12 blocked shots.
The Lady Admirals return home to Bert Jenkins Gym on Tuesday to host Ocean Springs in Region 4-7A play.
Meanwhile, in Pascagoula on Saturday, the Lady Panthers jumped out to a quick 17-6 lead after the first quarter and never trailed after that in earning the 14-point win.
Pascagoula now stands just one game below the .500 mark at 6-7 overall this season, and the Lady Panthers have won two straight games for the third time this season as they were coming off a 56-38 win over yet another Mobile area team in Alma Bryant in the Lady Indians Christmas Classic.

Samaha Johnson and Khliyah Moore did most of the damage for Pascagoula in that key first quarter for the Lady Panthers on Saturday, as Johnson scored seven points including draining a pair of 3-pointers while Moore added six points on a basket and four free throws. Kailyn Hyde added four points in the quarter as well.
The Lady Hornets managed to cut the deficit to six points in the second half, but Pascagoula got four points apiece from both Massyah Thomas and Peyton Harmon in the fourth frame and outscored Baker 10-3 in the final period to wrap up the win before heading back into Region 4-6A action this week.

Moore tallied a game-high 19 points, including a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter and one more in the third, in the win to pace Pascagoula while Thomas chipped in 13 points and Hyde added 11 points to the winning effort and Johnson scored nine points as well as the Lady Panthers were just one point away from placing four players in double digits.
Haley Lindsey poured in a game-high 23 points for Baker, including four treys.
Pascagoula returns to Region 4-6A play Tuesday night on the road at West Harrison.
