Sweeps seemed to be the major theme for action in Region 4-7A Tuesday night as league play resumed in the “Southern Six”.
Both home-standing Gulfport and Harrison Central won a pair of games, as did Biloxi on the road.
In the most surprising outcome of the night, the Gulfport Admirals nipped Ocean Springs 61-60 at Bert Jenkins Gym. It marked the first league loss of the season for the Greyhounds, now 3-1, as well and the second region win for Gulfport, now 2-2.
Amir Abdul Rauf poured in a game-high 33 points in the win for the Admirals.

The Greyhounds led 31-24 at halftime, as they held Rauf to just 10 points. However, the senior standout guard tallied 11 points in the third frame as GHS outscored OSHS 21-11 to take the lead entering the fourth period and then it was more of Rauf in the final quarter as he scored 12 points and the Admirals held on for the win.
Arjae Robinson added 10 points to the winning effort for Gulfport. Elijah Isom paced the Greyhounds with 18 points, while Maddox Noblitt added 14 points.
In the girl’s game, the Lady Admirals picked up their first region win of the season with a 45-27 decision. Shamyia Walker posted a double-double for Gulfport, as she scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and also had three blocks. M.J. Avery chipped in 12 points and Skyy Bush added 11 points as GHS moved to 1-3 in the loop while the Lady Greyhounds dropped to 0-4.

Meanwhile, in St. Martin, the Biloxi boys beat the home-standing Yellow Jackets 71-34. St. Martin actually jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, before the Indians ripped off a 21-0 run over the next six minutes to take a commanding 17-point lead and never look back.
Biloxi went on to lead 44-14 at halftime, as Reggie Conner had 20 points and Dayshawn Mcgee added 10 points in the first half. Conner went on to lead the Indians with 25 points in the win, while Mcgee finished with 15 points in the winning effort.
The Indians moved to 3-1 in the region race with the win, while the Yellow Jackets are winless at 0-4.
