Even though they’ll take place a day later than originally scheduled, a pair of important Region 4-7A games will take place at the Biloxi Sports Arena on Wednesday night.
Both the home-standing Indians and their female counterparts host region rival Harrison Central, and the top spot for both the girls and boys in the Region 4-7A race will be up for grabs.
The Lady Indians stand 19-3 overall and sit a perfect 5-0 in league play while the HCHS girls sit at 18-3 overall and are 4-1 in the loop. Meanwhile, the Biloxi boys are in first place with a 4-1 mark in the region race and the Red Rebels are neck-and-neck with the Indians also at 4-1 in league action. Biloxi is 16-5 overall and HCHS sits at

Both Biloxi teams currently have the top seed in the region for the upcoming league tournament which will take place in Ocean Springs in three weeks after the visiting Indians (53-39) and Lady Indians (47-26) took a pair of wins in Lyman a little over a month ago.
The rematches in Biloxi were set to take place Tuesday night but were postponed a day due to weather-related issues that caused some school closings.
All four teams are coming off wins in their latest region affairs, as home-standing Biloxi swept arch-rival Gulfport on Friday and visiting Harrison Central did the same in Ocean Springs.
In the 67-52 win for the Indians over the Admirals, Gulfport led by as five, at 34-29, late in the second quarter before Biloxi’s Reggie Conner drained a 3-pointer in the waning seconds to pull the Indians to the two-point intermission deficit.

The second half was a different story. Trailing 41-40, Biloxi used a 13-3 run to close the third frame and take a 53-44 advantage into the fourth quarter.
Conner poured in a game-high 30 points while Dayshawn Mcgee chipped in 17 points to the winning effort.
In the girls game, the Lady Indians thumped Gulfport 50-23. Biloxi simply over-powered the Lady Admirals throughout the contest, but especially during the first half when the Lady Indians led 21-2 at halftime after jumping out to a commanding 13-2 advantage after the opening period and then holding Gulfport scoreless in the second stanza.

Aaliyah Davidson turned in an outstanding all-around performance for Biloxi as she tallied a game-high 15 points to go along with nine rebounds, nine steals and seven assists. Freshmn center Zaniya Johnson followed that with yet another double-double, as she posted a worksheet of 12 points and 13 rebounds plus four blocked shots.
The Biloxi girls, however, are coming off a rare loss this season as on Saturday McGill-Toolen of Mobile handed Biloxi just its third loss of the season with a close 31-29 decision in the “Alabama/Mississippi Challenge” at Gulf Shores High School.
Johnson tallied 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds in that game.

Meanwhile, in Ocean Springs Harrison Central kept the home-standing Lady Greyhounds win-less in the region race with a commanding 72-31 decision and the Red Rebels overcame an 11-point halftime deficit to pull out a 73-69 win over the Greyhounds.
Senior shooting guard Aujaylen Barron, who has been on a roll of late, showed Ocean Springs exactly why as he posted 18 points in the third quarter including four 3-pointers and added 10 more points in the final frame, including making six free throws, as the Red Rebels held on for the win.
Barron never left the court all night and finished with a game-high 34 points for HCHS, while Shaun Murray chipped in 15 points to the winning cause. Mickey Duckworth pulled down nine rebounds for the Red Rebels while Nehemiah Barnett had five assists.
