The Pass Christian boys stayed perfect in Region 8-A acton Friday night, while the Bay High and PCHS girls also picked up wins setting up a showdown on Tuesday.
The Pirates and Lady Pirates both traveled to Arthur Haynes Gymnasium on the campus of Moss Point High Friday night and went back to the Pass with a sweep.
The Pirates thumped the Tigers 71-37. Pass Christian actually trailed 14-10 after the first quarter, but quickly rallied to take a 36-27 lead at halftime as L.J, Jaynes tallied nine points in the second stanza when PCHS doubled up on MPHS 26-13 in the period.

Pass Christian broke the game completely open by outscoring the Tigers 17-6 in the third frame and taking a commanding 53-33 entering the fourth period.
Jaynes celebrated a career milestone in the big win, eclipsing the magical 1,000-point mark with his game-high 18 point performance. Kyran Lanaeux and Perry Williams each chipped in 13 points apiece to the winning effort as PCHS moved to a perfect 6-0 in the region race and 16-6 overall.
In a rough outing offensively, Moss Point got six points apiece from both Tyreese Ricardo and Alejandro Montalvo in the loss.

The Pirates lead Greene County by a game and a half in the league standings after the Wildcats beat Bay High 50-31 in Leakesville Friday night.
Greene County got a game-high 23 points from Tylan Blackston. Jaylen Antoine had 15 points to lead the Tigers. The Wildcats sit in the second spot in the region race at 4-1, while Bay drops to 1-4 in the loop and 4-17 overall.
Just before the Pass boys beat Moss Point, the Lady Pirates handed the Lady Tigers a loss as well.
Pass Christian knocked off Moss Point 42-31. The game was close early and tied up at 16-16 at halftime. The Lady Pirates 16-7 in the third frame to take control and cruise to the win.

The Lady Pirates got a game-high 18 points from senior standout Kamaiyah Pruitt in the win, as they moved to 5-1 in the region race and 11-10 overall.
Moss Point got eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, from Kirsten Bailey and Jordyn Ford added seven points as the Lady Tigers fell to 1-4 in league play and 10-14 overall after suffering their fifth straight loss.
Pass Christian sits a half-game behind unbeaten Bay High in the Region 8-4A girls’ standings, after the Lady Tigers remained unbeaten in league play at 5-0 Friday night in Leakesville.

Bay bounced Greene County 41-17, as Nakeria Coleman led the Lady Tigers with a game-high 15 points just two shy of the entire scoring output of the Lady Wildcats. Kayla Fricke chipped in 10 points to the winning attack for BHS. The Lady Tigers stand 5-0 in in the region race and at 18-5 overall.
Region play resumes Tuesday night with a big girls’ showdown in the Pass as the Lady Pirates host the Lady Tigers. The PCHS boys will also host the Tigers in hopes of staying unbeaten in league play.
