Both the Biloxi and Harrison Central boys hope to finish up Region 4-7A play this week with wins to close out the league portion of their schedules and take the top two spots in the league standings.
But one will have that chance Monday and the other will have to wait until Tuesday to do it.

Harrison Central hosts St. Martin Monday night and with a win over the last place Yellow Jackets the Red Rebels will clinch the regular season championship.

Meanwhile, Biloxi kept in step with HCHS Friday night with a 55-39 road win over arch-rival Gulfport at Bert Jenkins Gym to move to 7-2 in the region race and 18-7 overall.

Those Warriors are coming off a 53-36 road win over St. Martin Friday night. D’Iberville moved to 3-6 in region play and 8-17 overall, while the Yellow Jackets are 1-8 in league action and 4-19 overall.
D’Iberville got a game-high 22 points from Devontae Carter in the win, while Jeremiah Huntley added eight points and Savion Jasper had seven points. Ty’Lah Whitlock scored 10 points for St. Martin while Kai Vinson and Elias Duncan had six points apiece.

The Region 4-7A boys and girls tournaments are set to tip-off on Monday at Hubbard Gymnasium on the campus of Ocean Springs High School. There will be four games on Monday and four games on Tuesday, two boys and a pair of girls contests on each day. All of the games on Monday will be “do-or-die” situations with the winning team advancing to the semifinals and the losing squads seeing their respective seasons come to an end.
There will then be girls and boys consolation contests on Thursday and the girls and boys championship gaes will be contested on Friday.
