PICAYUNE — The Pascagoula boys wrapped up Region 4-6A play by extending its school-record win streak to 24 straight games Tuesday night.
The Panthers clawed their way past home-standing Picayune 67-48 at Kelly Wise Gym to cap off a perfect 10-0 run through the region race. The Panthers head into Friday’s Senior Night against arch-rival Moss Point at 24-1 overall.
The Maroon Tide, who also dropped a 16-point loss to Pascagoula two weeks ago, finishes league play at 8-2 and sits at 20-7 overall and still has the number two seed for the upcoming Region 4-6A Tournament which also takes place at Kelly Wise Gym starting on Monday.

“Good team win in a tough environment,” Pascagoula seventh-year head coach Lorenzo Wright said.
After a close first quarter, Pascagoula led slightly at 13-11 entering the second period.
Pascagoula’s Kelan Rich tallied 10 points in the first half, including a 3-pointer, to help the Panthers stretch their advantage to seven at 21-14 at halftime.
Picayune wasn’t done though, as the home team fought back to open the third frame with a brief 9-4 run that included 3-pointer by Darrell Smith and a basket by Kelton Stewart to cut the deficit to 25-23.
However, Pascagoula was having none of a comeback as it immediately reeled off a 10-2 run of its own as Rich drained another 3-pointer and Dorian McMillan dumped in a put-back and hit a 14-foot jumper and suddenly the Panthers had their first double-digit lead of the game at 35-25 mid-way through the frame.
Just as the game was getting away for Picayune, Pascagoula’s Cle’darrius Ross hit a trey and then Maroon Tide starter Dakeith Quinn was slapped with two technical fouls and was ejected. McMillan hit three of the four ensuing free throws and suddenly it was 44-28 with 1:40 to play in the third and the game was all but over.
