St. Martin came into Tuesday’s road game at Bay High off of a big 4-3 win over Pascagoula on Saturday.
The home-standing Tigers weren’t impressed.
Bay High earned its first win of the season with a close 4-2 win over the Yellow Jackets. The win moves the Tigers to 1-3 on the season, after they started the new campaign with three losses in the first week. The decision dropped St. Martin to 1-2.
Bay High jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first frame and never trailed in picking up the win. Ethan Kingston singled to lead off the inning, and later scored on a passed ball. The Tigers plated another run when Braden Necaise’s sacrifice fly scored Maddux Mayo, who had also singled earlier in the stanza.

St. Martin broke onto the scoreboard with a solo run in the top of the fifth, when Sean Stigletts singled home courtesy runner Aidan Kilgore. Kilgore was on base for Brandon Stork, who singled also.
The Tigers immediately responded with a run in the bottom of the fifth, when Joel Ulrich singled and came around to score on a bunt and a throwing error.
Bay High stretched the advantage to three runs in the sixth to 4-1 on Ulrich’s run-scoring single that plated Walker Seymour who led the stanza off with a double.
The Yellow Jackets added a run in the top of the seventh, when Stigletts scored on a grounder that was misplayed into a throwing error by the Tigers.

Tiger starter Seymour picked up the win, throwing five frames while striking out eight and allowing five hits. Shug Renoylds finished up and earned a save.
River Groue took the loss.
The Yellow Jackets used the same type of philosophy on Saturday against Pascagoula as Bay High did against them Tuesday night.

St. Martin jumped out to a fast 3-0 start against the Panthers and never trailed in the 4-2 win.
Carter Bailey, Gavin Nitcavic, Kaden Walker and Caleb Lawrence all drove in runs in the winning effort.
Jonathan Baughman picked up the win. J.J. Trinidad took the loss.

Adrian Rosado had two hits for the Panthers, as PHS out-hit St. Martin seven to two in the loss. Griffin Wells and Denzel Melendez each collected a double for PHS as well, while Wells, Sean Norvell and Sebastian Ford all drove in a run each for the Panthers.
Pascagoula hosts arch-rival Moss Point on Wednesday night.
