LUCEDALE — George County finished off a two game, home, and home series sweep in a three-day span over Vancleave Thursday night.
The home-standing Rebels dispatched the Bulldogs 4-1 at Claude Passeau Field in the return match. That came on the heels of a 4-0 shutout win by GCHS on Tuesday night at “The Landing” in Vancleave.
Thursday night, the Rebels used a three run outburst in the bottom of the fourth frame to snap a scoreless tie and take control of the contest.
Blaine Green broke the deadlock up with an RBI-single, and then a run scored when the VHS defense misplayed a ground ball off the bat of Cayler Havard. Jacob Eubanks then drove a run on an RBI-sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.

George County scored its final run on another Bulldog error in the next inning.. Vancleave managed its only run in the top of the seventh on an RBI-fielders choice from Robert Tinson.
The Rebels collected six singles in the win, with Green having half of that total for a game-high three hits.
Martin Shaw posted a pair of hits to pace the Bulldogs.
Preston McAdory picked up the pitching win for GCHS, while Tyler West suffered the loss for VHS.
George County remained perfect on the young campaign with the win at 5-0, while Vancleave dropped to an even 3-3 on the season.

Nielsen started and hurled the first six stanzas, scattering the five singles while striking out two and walking one in picking up the win.
Reeves came in and struck out two in his one frame of work in the seventh to close things out.
Blaine Green and Tripp Lightsey both had a pair of hits apiece to lead the way for the Rebels, while Gage Reeves and Jacob Eubanks each posted RBI-singles.
