George County remained unbeaten on the young season on Saturday, while Pearl River Central also picked up a win in a pair of all “Southern Six” affairs.
The home-standing Rebels thumped St. Patrick 11-1, and the Blue Devils headed to Bay St. Louis and knocked off the Bay High Tigers in fine fashion 12-4 in nine innings.
In Lucedale, the Rebels moved to a perfect 6-0 on the young campaign with a commanding 11-1 win over St. Patrick at Claude Passeau Field.
The Rebels wasted no time in taking a quick lead it would never relinquish with a pair of runs in the first frame as Tripp Lightsey registered an RBI-single and Gage Reeves stole home after he reached base on a walk.
George County broke the game open with four runs in the third. Cayler Havard posted a two-run single and Jacob Eubanks followed that up two batters later with a two-run single as well to put the Rebels in command at 6-0.

A couple of long balls provided the next runs as St. Patrick got on the board for its only run in the top of the fourth on a solo home run by Cohen Weinhofer and the Rebels retaliated with a two-run home run by Andrew Neilsen to make it 8-1.
George County rounded out the scoring by adding a trio of runs in the sixth stanza on an RBI-double by Ben Davis and a run-scoring single from Eubanks. Garrett Dixon also drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.
The Rebels collected a season-high 14 hits in the win, as Eubanks tallied a game-high three hits to pave the way to the win. Lightsey, Davis and Alex Wade each added a pair of hits apiece, and Wade drove in a pair of runs as well in the win.
Bradyn Havard, one of four Rebels hurlers, picked up the pitching win for GCHS. Cooper Mercir, one of a quartet of Fighting Irish pitchers in the contest, took the loss.
St. Patrick fell to 5-3 under new head coach Kevin Burdine.
