The only thing that stopped visiting Mountain Brook (Ala.) during its three-day trip to the Gulf Coast was the weather.
The Spartans moved to 12-1 overall on the season with a 5-3 win over home-standing Gulfport at Herbert Wilson Field Saturday afternoon in third day action at the annual Battle at the Beach. It marked Mountain Brook’s third straight win in a three day span, with one day and one game washed away due to wet field conditions.
On get away day for the Spartans, MBHS used a four run sixth stanza to knock off the Admirals Saturday. Drew Bodnar had a two-run double to lead the Spartans at the plate in the win, while Caleb Barnett picked up the win on the mound.

Gulfport is now an even 5-5 overall, and the Admirals get back into BATB action Monday at home against Hartfield Academy.
