Despite a slight schedule change and then having to make travel plans, Pascagoula wrapped up its play in the Battle at the Beach in fine fashion with a pair of big wins to end the annual affair.
The Panthers were originally scheduled to face Natchez at home Friday night in their second straight hosting role at BATB, but heavy rains during that caused the game to be delayed for a day and moved to Herbert Wilson Field in Gulfport Saturday afternoon.
Pascagoula thumped the Bulldogs by two touchdowns, taking a dominating 14-0 win in less than four full frames. The win, coupled with an 8-1 victory over Tupelo Christian at home Wednesday night, gave PHS a 2-1 overall mark in BATB action and the Panthers under the direction of first-year head coach Colton Caver move to 4-5 overall as they head into Region 4-6A play next week.

On Saturday, the Panthers wasted no time in beginning to bomb the Bulldogs with three runs in the first frame and five more runs in the second stanza to take a commanding 9-0 lead in the process.
Pascagoula ended the game after plating six more runs in the third inning to take that two touchdown advantage, and the game ended after Natchez put up yet another goose egg on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth frame.
Sean Norvell wielded the big stick on the day for PHS, as he drove in a game and career-high six runs on a triple, a double and a sacrifice fly. Denzel Melendez added a two-run double in the second inning, as did Norvell. Sabastian Ford also had an RBI-double in that stanza.
Melendez had a pair of hits and a trio of RBIs in the winning attack, while Griffin Wells and Matt Dittsworth also drove in a run each for PHS.

Rashard Earnest worked the first three frames for the Panthers to pick up the pitching win.
On Wednesday, home-standing Pascagoula overcame an early 1-0 Tupelo Christian lead with a three run third frame to take a lead it would never relinquish.
Terry Lee tossed a complete game no-hitter for the Panthers to pick up the pitching win, striking out three and walking none. Pascagoula did commit a pair of fielding errors in the game, one of which allowed the only run to score for the Eagles.
Melendez then blasted a big three run home run in the in sixth inning to seal the win for PHS.
Melendez also had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the third inning to give him a game-high four RBi’s. Adrian Rosado had a pair of key hits for the Panthers, with an RBI-single in the third to tie the game up at 1-1 and he later added a run-scoring double in the sixth stanza.
J.J. Trinidad also had two hits for PHS, including a double, and Jarrad Loper had a pair of hits also for PHS. Tank Bishop drove in a run in the winning attack.

The past two wins helped Pascagoula bounce back from an inauspicious beginning to BATB action after they fell to Houston (Tex.) Christian 10-0 at MGM Park one week ago.
Pascagoula is set to host Picayune Tuesday night to begin Region 4-6A action.
