Resurrection kept the ball rolling right along in Region 8-1A play last week, while St. Stanislaus and St. Patrick got warmed up for a big home-and-home series against one another with differing results in Region 8-3A action.
The Eagles moved to 4-0 in the region race with a two game sweep of Salem, winning 7-0 at home on Tuesday 15-2 on the road Friday night.
In the first game, Luke Schnoor hit a solo home run for RCS while both Hayden Porter and Justin San Miguel collected two hits and two RBIs apiece. One of San Miguel’s hits was a double.
Trace Tingle started on the hill and worked five frames while striking out 11 to pick up the win. Hayden Porter pitched the final two stanzas, combining with Tingle on a two-hit shutout.


In game two, Carter McCammon registered game-highs in both hits with three and RBIs with five and he hit a home run and Harris Hinkle also hit a home run and drove in three runs with his two hits in the winning effort.
Porter chipped in and two hits and two RBIs, while San Miguel had a pair of hits including a run-scoring double.
McCammon started and picked up the win with four innings of work, while Schnoor finished up and struck out eight batters in three frames.
Resurrection is set to travel to East Marion in Region 8-1A play Monday night. The Eagles have now won 40 consecutive league games, which is the longest such streak in the state of Mississippi.

Meanwhile, in Region 8-3A play, St. Patrick moved to 4-0 in the league after sweeping Tylertown in a doubleheader on Wednesday.
The Fighting Irish won 11-0 in the opener and followed that up with an 14-0 shutout of the Chiefs in the nightcap.
In game one, Carson Kilpatrick posted a game-high five RBIs with his two hits to lead the way, while Trey Kopszwya and Cohen Weinhofer each added two hits apiece and Ayden Lee drove in a pair of runs.
Jacob Alexander started and picked up the pitching win in the four frame affair.
In the second game, Weinhofer threw a one-hit shutout in five frames to get the win. He also drove in a game-high four runs in the contest.
St. Patrick, now 4-0 in the region race, is set to host region rival St. Stanislaus Tuesday night. The Rock-A-Chaws split a pair of league games with Perry Central last week.



On Tuesday, SSC thumped the Bulldogs 13-3. Wiley Mossy had a game-high three hits including a triple and drove in two runs for the Rocks, while Brady Wallis had two hits including a double and he drove in a game-high three runs.
Will Powell added a pair of doubles to the winning attack, while Dylan Lamb and Tate Murphy each had a double apiece also for SSC.
Wallis was the winning pitcher.
In New Augusta on Friday night, the home-standing Bulldogs used a four-run third inning to take a lead they would never relinquish in a 4-3 win over the Rocks.
Jeremy Mares had two hits, including a solo home run for SSC. He also took the loss on the mound.
St. Stanislaus sits 2-2 in the region race. The Fighting Irish are slated to host the Rocks Tuesday night with a trip to Bay St. Louis scheduled for Wednesday night in game two of the home and home affair.
