GULFPORT — The pairings are set for the annual Port City Bowl at historic Milner Stadium that traditionally begins the prep football season in the “Southern Six”.

The event, scheduled for Friday, Aug. 30th, is once again a doubleheader as host Gulfport will play Greenville Christian at 8:00 p.m. after Harrison Central faces off against Gautier in the opening game at 5:30.

The opening game will mark the first official regular season contest of the new campaign for all “Southern Six” squads. The Port City Bowl last year was changed to one game each at both Milner Stadium and one at Harrison Central High School.

The Gulfport-Greenville Christian game will mark the first time in history that the Admirals have faced an opponent from the private school sector in the state of Mississippi. The Saints won back-to-back Class 3A Midsouth Association of Independent Schools state championships in 2020 and 2021.

With a pair of Region 4-7A foes competing in the Port City Bowl, and with the recent finalization of this year’s match-ups, that completes the regular season schedules for the six schools that comprise the league for the second straight season.

All games are set for a 7 p.m., kickoff unless otherwise noted.
