Resurrection will split its home games between both Gautier High and Pascagoula this season.
Well, sort of.
According to RCS head football coach and Athletics Director Eric Denmark the Eagles have only four home games, and they will play three of those in Vaughn-Wallace Stadium on the campus of GHS while the Homecoming contest will take place at War Memorial Stadium in Pascagoula.
Resurrection will open the season on the road at Bay High on Friday, Aug. 30th before returning to Gautier to host Presbyterian Christian the next week.
Three straight road trips are on tap over the next three weeks, incluing wrapping that trek up with a tip to St. Patrick, before the Eagles come back home to celebrate Homecoming in Pascagoula on Friday, Oct 4th against Salem in a game that will also serve as the opening Region 8-1A contest for both teams as well.
Over the last four games in the regular seasons, all league affairs, RCS will play two in Gautier and the other pair on the road.

24 in 2024
Starting on Friday, SouthMiss6 Sports will begin its daily previews of the 24 prep football teams in the “Southern Six” that are members of the Mississippi High School Activities Association.
We will profile one team each day for 24 straight days as we work toward the kick off to the 2024 prep football season in South Mississippi.
Time to tee it up
Football practice begins for all of those 24 squads on Monday, Aug. 5th. Some teams will compete in jamborees on Friday, Aug. 23rd as well as Thursday, Aug. 22nd and Saturday, Aug. 24 as they continue to tune up for the start of the season the next week.

“Sweet 16 in the Southern Six”
In conjunction with the start of football practice, SouthMiss6 Sports will also begin its daily introduction of our top players in the “Southern Six” as we reveal our “Sweet 16” list.
Each day, one player will be added to the list along with our daily 24 in 2024 team previews. It was quite a chore to shave the list down to just 16 with all of the talented prep football players in our coverage area, but along with the help from some head coaches and sports writers, we were able to do it.
So stay tuned as we get you geared up for prep football 2024….
