Biloxi won the debut of new head coach Jamey Dubose Friday night.
The home-standing Indians clipped Stone 15-0 in the annual Shrimp Bowl at the Biloxi Sports Complex.
The game was scoreless throughout most of the first half before Biloxi quarterback Wyatt Pyron hit Indian wide out William Lai with a 21-yard touchdown toss with 1:11 to play before halftime. The play was set up by another reception earlier in the drive when Pyron hooked up with Jalen Anderson on a 29 yard completion.
William Parker scored the two. point conversion to make it 8-0.

After providing the only points of the game in the first half, the Indians duplicated that feat in the second half as well.
Jahmir Haskin finished off a sustained Indian drive with a five yard scoring scamper with just over a minute to play in the third frame to make it 15-0 and end the scoring.

Madison Central 27, Ocean Springs 20
Madison Central running back Glen Singleton scored all four of the Jaguars’ touchdowns, including the final one on a nine-yard run to put MC up for good in the fourth period as the visitors slipped past the Greyhounds in the season-opener for both teams.
The Jaguars trailed 13-7 at halftime before Singleton produced three of his scoring scampers in the second half as Madison Central pulled out a win for the second straight season over the Greyhounds in the opening week of play.
Greyhound quarterback Sharroid Whitehead, sharing time behind center with Conner White, connected with Nolan Wells on a 21-yard scoring strike with just over two minutes to play in the third frame to tie the game up at 20-20.
White scored from two yards out on a quarterback sneak in the first half, and running back Will Smith accounted for the other Greyhound score with a two-yard run.

Brandon 60, Picayune 34
Picayune running back Jordan Hathorne ushed for three touchdowns but Brandon put a beatdown on the homestanding Maroon Tide Friday night at Lee-Triplett Stadium.
Gulfport 41, Greenville Christian 6
The Admirals kicked off the second year of the Blake Pennock era with an easy win over GCHS in the first ever meeting on the football field between the two teams.
The game was the nightcap of the annual Port City Bowl. Cooper Crosby earned Most Valuable Player honors for Gulfport.

Forrest Cunty AHS 34, St. Stanislaus 10

Homestanding Forrest County AHS delivered in its season opener with a 34-10 victory over the visiting St. Stanislaus Rock-A-Chaws on Friday night in Brooklyn. 

The Aggies jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead before the Rocks responded with a 42-yard field goal from Evan Noel with no time left on the clock to make the score 14-3 at intermission. 

The Rocks opened the second half of play with a 65-yard scoring toss from Sam Grant to Adam Oliver who made a nifty move in the open field to avoid an angle from a safety en route to the end zone with 10:22 left in the third quarter. Noel converted on the PAT to make the score 14-10.

The Aggies answered on the ensuing series with a 4-yard run from Omarion Reed with 6:32 left in the third quarter. Drake Schmitt blocked Anderson’s PAT leaving the score 20-10. 

After holding the SSC offense in check, the Aggies added another score on a 5-yard run by Csaszar with 3:00 left in the third quarter. Anderson’s PAT made the score 27-10. 

After Grant threw an interception on the ensuing series, rhe Aggies added their final score on a 6-yard run by Reed with 11:17 left in the game. Max Schoultz converted on the PAT to make the score 34-10.

The Rocks added a little excitement to the waning moments when Noel lined up for a 62-yard field attempt with 7:21 remaining in the game. After a mistrike on the ball, Noel smacked a knuckleball kick on a laser about 10-feet off the ground that slapped the middle crossbar and fell incomplete; however, he received a thunderous applause from the stadium on the attempt. 

The Rocks (0-1) will host crosstown rival Bay High on Friday, September 6, at the Brother Philip Memorial Athletic complex for the annual Battle for the Crab Trap while Forrest County AHS will host Long Beach.
