VANCLEAVE — On a soggy night in a constant downpour on Highway 57 at Vancleave Stadium, the Gulfport Admirals would build a 21-0 halftime lead and increase the margin to a 35-0 final over the Vancleave Bulldogs.
It marked just the second all-time meeting between the two Coast schools, as the Admirals remain unbeaten on the young campaign and the Bulldogs remain winless at 0-2.
At near the conclusion of the opening quarter, Gulfport would break the ice and score with 27 seconds remaining in the first quarter to go up 7-0 after a 2 yard touchdown run by Dakoreyon Payton and a a successful Grayson Tegeder point-after attempt.
At the 9:22 mark of the second quarter Gulfport would score through the air as quarterback Dane Sullivan found Krisjeohn Burks on a 26-yard scoring strike.

Then, with :30 seconds remaining before the half, Sullivan struck again through the air this time to Austin Porter from 13-yards out and GHS was up 21-0.
With just a few seconds left before halftime Vancleave quarterback Wyatt Adams found wide receiver Junior Harris and running back Kyle Capers for successful consecutive long pass plays pushing into Admiral territory at the 11 yard line. But the Gulfport defense would hold Vancleave off the board, tackling receiver Martin Shaw in bounds with Vancleave unable to stop the clock with no timeouts.
The Admirals basically put the game away late in the third frame when Sullivan connected with Burks for a 19-yard touchdown toss to make it 28-0.
