MOSS POINT — Don’t look now, but suddenly surging West Harrison has won four straight games.
The Hurricanes stormed into Dantzler Stadium and blew away home-standing Moss Point 48-13 on Homecoming night for the Tigers Friday night. West Harrison stands 4-1 for the third straight season, while Moss Point drops to 0-5 overall.
West Harrison scored on seven of its first eight possessions of the game, taking a 48-6 halftime lead in the process and breezed to the win.

The home team actually scored first in this one, as Moss Point quarterback Ke’Von Ford scampered 56-yards for a touchdown less than two minutes into the game to put the Tigers up 6-0.
West Harrison, however, would respond with 48 straight points over the next 22 minutes plus to secure the lead and seal the deal before the bands took the field at halftime.
The Hurricanes came right back with a two-yard scoring plunge by Jordan Stapleton to make it make it 7-6 at the 7:22 mark of the opening period, and followed that up with another touchdown run from Stapleton on the next possession this one from 19-yards out to make it 14-6 with a little less than three minutes to go in the quarter.

The second stanza was more of the same, as Sean Fairley darted nine yards for a score less than two minutes in and Stapleton was back at it with a 66-yard touchdown dash mid-way through the frame and all of a sudden it was 28-6.
The Hurricanes weren’t done, as they added three more touchdowns in the final 2:11 before halftime. Jeremy Jones scored on a five yard run and Stapleton added a 40-yard jaunt to make it 41-6, and with :22 ticks left on the clock Trey Harris sprinted 60-yards for a score to send West Harrison into the locker room with that 48-6 lead.
