BAY ST. LOUIS — The eighth “Southern Six” Senior Spotlight sponsored by Reese’s of the new school year is OLA’s Myah Favre.

Each week throughout the school year, we here at SouthMiss6 Sports will highlight a senior student/athlete in the “Southern Six” to honor.

On Thursday, Favre helped guide her Crescents to their third straight Class 3A state volleyball championship.

OLA finished a stellar 42-4 overall this season, as the Crescents knocked off Belmont 3-1 at A.E. Wood Coliseum on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton.

For her outstanding performance this year, Fave was recently recognized as the Class 3A “Miss Volleyball” in the state of Mississippi by The Mississippi High School Activities Association. That distinction earned her the honor that is usually reserved for seniors.

“Myah is so deserving of this award. She has a love for the game that can only be understood by watching her play,” Emily Corley, Head Volleyball Coach & Athletic Director at OLA said recently. “She is a force on the court with amazing energy. What makes her even more special is what a wonderful young lady she is on and off of the court. Myah draws people to her and has a presence about her! It has been an honor to coach her the past 4 years.”

The 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1:30 PM CT at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. The game and practices will be televised on the NFL Network. 

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process. The longest continual-running all-star game has taken place in Mobile, Alabama the past 75 years.  More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision-makers from all 32 teams, and over 1100 media members from around the country were credentialed this year. This past April, the game produced 110 total picks, representing 43 percent of the entire NFL draft.
