A pair of Jackson County teams fared far differently in region action at home Friday night.
Gautier celebrated Homecoming with a big 31-8 win over visiting Wayne County as the Gators moved to 2-0 in Region 4-5A play.
Gautier standout quarterback Trey Irving accounted for all four Gator touchdowns, as he threw for three scores and ran for another in the winning effort.

Irving hit Devon Garrett on a 2-yard toss in the first quarter and then he ran for a score from the same distance in the second stanza and combined with a 25-yard field goal from Eric Robinson the home team was up 17-0 at halftime.
It was more of the Trey Irving show in the second half, as he hit Latrell Pogue on a 9-yard touchdown toss in the third quarter and followed that up with a 62-yard scoring strike to Kainen Rush in the fourth frame to seal the win.
The Gators moved to 6-1 overall with their fifth straight win, while once mighty Wayne County is 1-1 in the region race and 2-6 overall.
