Poplarville maintained the best record in the “Southern Six” Friday night.
The Hornets had the week off from Region 8-4A play so head coach Jay Beech’s squad hit the road to Tylertown and came away with an exciting 43-37 win over the home-standing Chiefs.

Poplarville moved to 7-1 overall with the win, and will resume region play with a trip to Bay High next week.
The Hornets got two touchdown runs from quarterback Sydney Blackmon.
Tylertown led 15-14 lead at halftime. Ty Keys ran for a 21-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to give the Hornets a 29-23 lead.

Nick Miller then dashed 36-yards for a Hornet score to push Poplarville’s lead to 36-23 and the Hornets were able to hold on for the win.
Miller then added a little insurance for the Hornets on another scoring run
