D’IBERVILLE — Home-standing D’Iberville stayed alive in the chase for the upcoming Class 7A South State playoffs with its first Region 4-7A win of the season Friday night.
The Warriors whacked visiting Harrison Central 31-0 to move to 1-2 in the region race and even at 4-4 overall. The Red Rebels are also at 1-2 in league play and sit at 2-6 overall.
Sophomore quarterback Jordan Walley was 12-of-18 through the air for 180 yards and a trio of touchdown passes in the winning effort. All of Walley’s scoring passes came in the first half and gave the Warriors a commanding 21-0 lead.

Late in the first period, Walley connected with Malakai Knight on a 40-yard scoring strike to make it 7-0.
Mid-way through the second stanza Walley went right back to work when he found Knight for a 6-yard touchdown toss to double up the DHS lead at 14-0.
Walley had his last second magic working once more just before halftime, as he hit Andre Crosby on a 16-yard scoring strike with just nine seconds to play in the period and Jorge Lara’s third point-after of the game made it 21-0 heading into intermission.

Lora added a 31-yard field goal in the third frame to make it 24-0, and a 53-yard interception return for a touchdown by Warrior defender Cam Edwards resulted in the final 31-0 count.
While Walley was filling up the passing lanes in the winning effort, Warrior running back Jayquan Havard kept the Red Rebel defense honest as he ran for 109 yards on 12 attempts.
Knight, Walley’s favorite target, finished with five catches for 92 yards and the two scores.
