KILN — For the past two seasons, the Hancock girl’s basketball team has started each season off with 20 straight wins.
And after just nine days into the new campaign, its so far so good for the Lady Hawks this season.
Even after losing SouthMiss6 Sports Player of the Year and First Team Class 6 All-State guard Brooklyn Cuevas, Hancock and head coach Jamie Sisco is 3-0 headed into Thursday night’s first home game of the year against Presbyterian Christian out of Hattiesburg.
The boys game will follow.
The Lady Hawks are 3-0 after a big 52-26 over County rival Bay High Tuesday night.

“Our effort and toughness has really carried us so far this year,” Sisco said Wednesday after practice. “We are a work in progress offensively and figuring out our identify at this point, but we will get there.”
In the win over Bay High at the Tigerdome Tuesday, Catherine Sins tallied a game-high 17 points including a career-high five 3-pointers to pace the Lady Hawks while Riley Bishop dropped in 16 points and point guard Talana Bond chipped in eight points.
The Lady Hawks opened the new season a little later than most teams in the “Southern Six” last week, but when they finally did tip off with two games in the annual Gulf Shores Lady Dolphins Tip-Off Tournament over the weekend.

On Friday night, Hancock nipped Daphne (Ala.) 42-21 in its season-opener. Bishop dropped in 13 points to lead the way, while Cambri Necaise joined her in double digits with 10 points and Anslee James chipped in eight points in her first action back from a season-ending knee injury she suffered last season in January.
The Lady Hawks followed that decision up with another win on Saturday morning with a much more comfortable 53-33 win over Theodore (Ala.)
Sins had 11 points in that victory including a trio of treys and Bond added eight points while Bishop, James and Abigail Carver each tossed in seven points apiece to the winning cause as well.

Meanwhile, the PCS girls will be making their fourth trip to the “Southern Six” this season Thursday night after going 2-1 in the annual Pass Christian Tip-Off Tournament last week.
The Lady Bobcats beat Moss Point to begin action on Tuesday, Nov. 5th, 44-28 despite 11 points from Lady Tiger Jordyn Ford scoring 11 points and PCS followed that up by cruising to a 54-18 win over the host squad Lady Pirates one week ago. Then on Saturday, West Harrison handed PCS its first loss of the young campaign with a 56-30 thumping.
