OAK GROVE — Defending Class 7A state champion Oak Grove ended the season for visiting Biloxi and first-year head coach Jamey Dubose Friday night.
The Warriors never trailed, jumping out to a quick and commanding 20-0 first half lead en route to a 34-20 win over the Indians in opening round play of the Class 7A South State playoffs.
With the win, Oak Grove moves to 8-3 overall on the season and will head to Ocean Springs for a second round match-up next week. Biloxi’s ends the season at 5-6.

The decision marked the sixth straight loss all-time for Biloxi to Oak Grove, including four consecutive in the playoffs. The Indians have never beat the Warriors on the gridiron.
Kellen Hall’s 3-Yard pass to Kaiden Smith for a touchdown on Oak Grove’s first possession of the game was a harbinger of things to come for Biloxi.
A 23-yard field goal by Jase Farbe made it 10-0 home team heading into the second stanza.
The Warriors extended the lead to 17-0 early in the period when Hall hit A.J. Lewis with a 5-yard scoring strike. And another field goal by Farbe, this one from 35-yards out, gave OGHS that aforementioned 20-0 lead with six minutes to go before halftime.

The Indians did show some spirit though, as Jalen Anderson broke loose on a 55-yard scoring scamper to cut the deficit to 20-7 and then he added a 5-yard touchdown dash just before halftime to make it 20-13 heading into intermission.
Any hopes of continuing that comeback by Biloxi into the second half were quickly thwarted by Oak Grove running back Roman Causey when he plunged in from a yard out mid-way through the third frame to extend the Warrior lead to 27-13.
Causey’s 20-yard scoring run some seven minutes later all but sealed the deal for Oak Grove at 34-13 entering the final period.

The Indians completed the scoring on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Wyatt Pyron to Anderson in the fourth period.
Lewis then recovered the ensuing on-sides kick off for Oak Grove to secure the win.
Dubose took over for Katlan French this season after Biloxi lost to Oak Grove in the opening round of the state playoffs in 2020, 2021 and 2023. The Indians have not won a playoff game since 2011.
