OCEAN SPRINGS — The Moss Point girls made sure that at least one of the two Tiger teams traveling to Hubbard Gym here on the Ocean Spring High School campus Tuesday night would return home with a win.
The Lady Tigers opened the evening’s festivities by handing the Lady Greyhounds their first loss of the young season with a surprisingly comfortable 35-21 decision.

Moss Point moves to an even 3-3 on the season while OSHS now sits at 3-1. The win was a bounce back for the Lady Tigers after an 18-15 loss to visiting West Harrison late last week that snapped a brief two game win streak after MPHS started the season off with a pair of losses in the annual Pass Christian Tip-Off Tournament.
Moss Point jumped out to a quick 11-4 lead after the first period and basically never looked back in its first big win over a fellow Jackson County foe.
Kirsten Bailey tallied five points including a 3-pointer in that first frame to get the Lady Tigers off to that good start.

Kaliyah Richardson dropped in a trey and Landy Johnson added four points in the second stanza and MPHS doubled up on OSHS at 20-10 at halftime despite Starr Jackson scoring all six points in the period for the Lady Greyhounds.
Ocean Springs got a 3-pointer from Layla Dailey in the third frame but MPHS countered with Bailey’s second trey of the game to extend the lead slightly to 12 points during the third frame to make it 30-18 entering the last quarter.

And a 3-pointer by Tiger standout Jordyn Ford in the fourth period helped the Lady Tigers seal the win.
Bailey paced the way for MPHS with 10 points while Ford and Richardson added eight points apiece to the winning effort.
Jackson dropped in a game-high 14 points to pace OSHS.
