D’IBERVILLE — The D’Iberville girls and visiting Moss Point continued to tune up for the upcoming start of their respective region races Tuesday night.
The Class 7A Lady Warriors pulled out an exciting 36-32 win in overtime over the Class 4A Lady Tigers. The decision moves DHS to 5-4 overall, as it prepares to host Biloxi Friday night to open Region 4-7A action.
Moss Point dropped to 4-5 and still has a bit of time before it opens Region 8-4A play later this month.
Knotted up at 29-29 after regulation expired, DHS got a four points in the extra session from sophomore Kaitlynn Harris including her fourth 3-pointer of the contest to outscore MPHS 7-3 in the overtime to pull out the close win.

Both teams were sluggish in the scoring department in the first half, as the Lady Tigers went into halftime with just an 11-9 lead thanks in part to a key trey by Landyn Johnson in the second stanza.
Moss Point stretched its slight lead just a bit more as the third frame unfolded, as Jordyn Ford tallied a field goal and a pair of free throws and the Lady Tigers took a 19-14 advantage into the fourth period.

But at that point, the home team made the home court advantage count, as DHS rallied behind Nay Jefferson and Harris. Jefferson scored seven points in the stanza and Harris drained a pair of 3-pointers as the Lady Warriors outscored MPHS 15-10 to tie the contest up at 29-29 and force the extra session and set up the climactic ending.
