OCEAN SPRINGS — The Ocean Springs-Pass Christian contest originally slated for Tuesday night was moved up a day because of exams taking place at PCHS this week.
The Pirates certainly passed the test against the home-standing Greyhounds Monday night.
Pass Christian stormed into Hubbard Gymnasium and toppled OSHS 77-59. The Pirates, under the direction of first-year head coach Robin Sikes, move to 8-5 overall while the Greyhounds drop to 5-6 overall with their third straight loss in the past four days.

The Pirates used a balanced scoring attack in the first period to jump out to a quick lead and eventually almost led by double digits over the home team by the end of the period.
Ellic Laneaux tallied six points in the opening frame for PCHS, while Landon Hall, Perry Williams and Kyran Laneaux all added five points apiece in the period including a 3-pointer from Hall as Pass Christian capped the opening period up 21-13 over OSHS.
Maddox Noblitt recorded seven points, including a trey of his own, in the first frame for the Greyhounds or else the deficit would have been much greater.

Pass Christian held steady in the second stanza as Hall added seven more points including another 3-pointer and the Pirates went into halftime up 38-27.
It would be in the third frame when the Piirates blew the hame open and took a commanding lead as Williams dropped in 11 points including a trey and Kyran Laneaux chipped in 10 points as PCHS nearly doubled up the Greyhounds 31-16 in the quarter to cruise into the final period up 69-43 and never look back.
Kyran Laneaux and Hall tallied 17 points apiece to pace Pass Christian to the win, while Williams was right behind that duo with 16 points and Ellic Laneaux added nine points.

Noblitt guided the Greyhounds with 15 points, while JaColby Bailey added nine points and Luke Mackin had eight points all in the fourth frame including a pair of 3-pointers.
The Pirates travel to Raymond Monday.
The Greyhounds head across the state line to Alabama to participate in the annual Theodore Pre-Christmas Tournament Friday and Saturday.
Both teams will play in the annual Admiral Hardwood Club Holiday Tournament right after Christmas next week.
