OCEAN SPRINGS — After coming off of much different results Monday night against visiting Pass Christian, both Ocean Springs squads hit Interstate-10 Friday morning for holiday tournament action.
Both the Greyhounds and the Lady Greyhounds will head a little east across the state line to take part in the annual Theodore (Ala.) Pre-Christmas Tournament. The event is a two day affair featuring both boy’s and girls teams, and will wrap up on Saturday after five games are played on Friday followed by seven more Saturday.
Also, the two OSHS teams aren’t the only “Southern Six” squads involved in the tourney as the Pascagoula Lady Panthers will take part as well.

It’s been a boom or bust season so far for the Lady Greyhounds, as they come into the weekend at an even .500 mark at 5-5 overall.
Ocean Springs tipped off the current campaign with three straight wins followed up by four consecutive losses before toppling Pass Christian 45-21 on Monday.
The Lady Greyhounds wasted no time in jumping out to a quick and commanding lead over the Lady Pirates with a 19-5 halftime advantage. The lead was built thanks in large part to a 14-4 lead after the first frame, as Lalya Daley tossed in five first quarter points including a 3-pointer and Brianna DeRamus added four points to put OSHS up by double digits heading into the second stanza.

Starr Jackson scored six first half points for OSHS as it went into the second half with that aforementioned 14-point lead. Just like she did in both the first and second quarters, she again scored three points in the third frame while Taylor Fairley added four points in the period as the Lady Greyhounds cruised to the comfortable win.
Both Jackson and Daley tallied nine points apiece to Ocean Springs to the win.
Megan Dedeaux paced Pass Christian with seven points, as the Lady Pirates dropped to 1-10 overall with their sixth straight loss.

Other boys’ teams joining the Greyhounds are the host Bobcats, Mobile Blount and Minor.
