BILOXI — Three weeks ago, the then unbeaten Biloxi girls basketball team faced the possibility of meeting four fellow undefeated foes over a period spanning from late last year into early 2025.
Now, the still unbeaten Lady Indians have completed that gauntlet unscathed.
Biloxi bombed visiting St. Martin 51-12 Tuesday night at The Biloxi Sports Arena as each squad jumped back into Region 4-7A action. The win moved the Lady Indians to a perfect 19-0 overall as well as 4-0 in the region race, while the Lady Yellow Jackets fell to 17-2 overall and 3-1 in league play in what was a battle for the top spot in the region standings.

“Anytime you can win inside of region play, it’s a good thing.” Biloxi head coach Devin Hill said. “We feel like our non-region schedule has prepared us for what’s to come. That’s the way I designed our schedule. I feel like we had a great day of preparation yesterday, and our girls really executed well. When we defend at a high level and make shots, we are tough to beat. Hopefully, we can continue to do those things well.”
The 19th win for his Lady Indians was over before it started. Inside the lane, Dandy Dozen center Zaniya Johnson dropped in three baskets for six points in the first frame while outside the lane both Jayla Carriere and Na’Kenya Terry drained a 3-pointer each and Biloxi led comfortably by double digits at 16-6 entering the second stanza.

Things got even worse for the visitors in that period, as Carriere scored seven points including another trey and both Amari Meredith and Nia Shannon launched 3-pointers as well. Johnson continued her impressive work inside also with five poins, as Biloxi outscored St. Martin 19-2 in the quarter to break the game wide open with a commanding 35-8 advantage at halftime.
“I think our long lay off has us out of rhythm,” SMHS head coach Jason Kennedy said. Kennedy’s squad was back in action for just the second time after a 15 day holiday break.
“We just have to shake back and keep fighting,” he continued. “Tonight was all on me. I have to be better for my girls and I will put them in better positions going forward. We will bounce back.”

Johnson and Carriere evenly combined for 26 points to pace Biloxi to the win, while Taylor Hannah added eight points to the winning cause. Johnson also had 12 rebounds as she posted yet another duble-double, while Aliyah Davidson dished out five assists.
Kylenn Ward scored seven of St. Martin’s 12 points.
Biloxi started it’s streak of facing fellow unbeaten foes with w win over Hancock on Dec 17th, and followed that up with a win over Montgomery Park Crossing, a defeat of Jackson Callaway and then the win over St. Martin to wrap it up.
