But Bay High stormed back in the third frame to cut the deficit to 26-20 entering the final period, but couldn’t manage to get much closer down the stretch as MPHS held on for the win.

JuJuan Nettles continued his impressive work of late as he tallied a game-high 16 points and pulled down six rebounds in the winning effort. William Rogers added 11 points for MPHS as well.

Anthony Robinson scored 12 points, pulled down eight boards and had four steals to pace Bay High. Nijayh Abbot added eight points for Bay High and Noah Smith had seven points.

Moss Point moved to 7-15 overall with the win while Bay High is 10-11 overall and fell to 1-2 in league play.

Moss Point begins the second half of its region play on the road in Leakesville Tuesday night in a re-match with league-leading Greene County. The Wildcats beat the Tigers 49-42 three weeks ago, but Nettles was still out for that game due to an injury that caused him to miss the first 10 games of the season.

Greene County is 10-10 overall and 3-1 in the region race, but is coming off of its first league loss of the season in a 65-49 defeat on the road at Pass Christian Friday night.

Bay High, meanwhile, heads to the Pass Wednesday night to resume region play along with the Pirates.
