BILOXI — The next “Southern Six” Senior Spotlight sponsored by Reese’s of the school year is Biloxi’s Aaliyah Davidson.

Each week throughout the school year, we here at SouthMiss6 Sports will highlight a senior student/athlete in the “Southern Six” to honor.

Davidson is a steady, veteran presence on one of the top teams in the state that is basically dominated by the play of a pair of sophomore standouts in center Zaniya Johson and shooting guard Jayla Carriere.

The 5-foot-6 point guard Davidson has started for almost the entire past three seasons for the Lady Indians and has been a consistent and effective force even as far back as two years ago when then senior Shaneal Corpuz was leading the way.

This season, Davidson has been at the helm of an Indian squad that has reeled off an impressive 25-1 record as it enters the Region 4-7A Tournament next week in Gulfport. Biloxi is undefeated against Mississippi opponents heading into the postseason.

Davidson is third in scoring this season with six points a game behind only Johnson and Carriere, while she leads the Lady Indians in assists with four per contest and is second in steals at three per game.
