KILN — The streak continued for the Hancock girls Friday night.

The Lady Hawks won their 24th straight region 4-6A game as well as their second straight league tourney title with a solid 45-32 win over West Harrison in the region championship game.

The win moves Hancock to an impressive 26-2 overall, and WHHS drops to 24-5. Up next for both teams are opening round home games in the upcoming Class 6A South State playoffs late next week.

But the Lady ‘Canes battled back in the second stanza, as Sydnei Barber dropped in six points and West Harrison cut the deficit to 18-12 at halftime.

Bishop then took matters into her own hands down the stretch, as she poured in nine fourth period points, including another 3-pointer and Caitlyn Ladner drained a trey as well as Hancock cruised to the win.

Bishop tallied a co-game-high 18 points to led the Lady Hawks, and Necaise added nine points to the winning effort.

Barber also scored 18 points to pace West Harrison, while Jaylenn Applewhite chipped in 12 points.
