JACKSON — And then there were three…

A trio of “Southern Six” prep basketball teams are all that’s left standing as 28 squads converge on the Mississippi Coliseum here in this Capital city beginning Monday morning to compete for seven gold balls over the next weeks.

A pair of Biloxi teams and the Pascagoula boys all qualified for a trip to compete for state titles at the “Big house” after all the dust settled in the respective South State Quarterfinal rounds over the past few days.

Both Biloxi squads are up first on Monday, as the Lady Indians face Starkville at 10:30 a.m., and that game is followed by the Indians taking on Germantown at Noon.

Both of those games come in the Class 7A overall Final Four.

The final “Southern Six” squad to get into action will be the Pascagoula boys who will face Ridgeland Thursday afternoon at 1:30 in the class 6A boys final four.
