BILOXI — Unfortunately, unlike the past three years Konnor Griffin won’t be displaying his outstanding prep baseball wares in South Mississippi over the next 10 days.
The former Jackson Prep All-American was one of the top first round picks in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft in July, and was seen roaming centerfield earlier this week for the Pittsburgh Pirates in a Spring Training game against the Boston Red Sox in Bradenton, Fla.
But despite his absence, and despite the fact that no player from the “Southern Six” was selected to the prestigious “Dandy Dozen” list as produced annually by The Jackson Clarion-Ledger, fans will still be able to catch some top talent from six different states at the annual “Battle of the Beach” over the next 10 days.

Eight members of that 2025 “Dandy Dozen” team will be in action in at least one game of the BATB, which began Thursday at Biloxi High.
Let’s take a look at those eight outstanding prep baseball players that will be roaming the diamonds across the “Southern Six” over the next 10 days.
