BILOXI — Here’s our daily “Battle at the Beach” update:

Sunday was the only full day off for the ninth annual affair, as all teams involved took a break to enjoy the first day of the year with some extra sunshine.

But day four of the prestigious event sees action all across the “Southern Six” with 17 varsity games in seven different locations.

Here is a look at Monday’s full slate of games:

In the first three days of play so far, the main host Biloxi is off to a successful start with two wins in a pair of outings on Thursday and Friday nights.

In opening day play Thursday, the Indians pounded Pass Christian 13-3 in just five innings.

Will Parker collected a game-high three hits, including a double, and drove in a game-high three runs for BHS in the win.

On Friday night, Biloxi retained the “Tomahawk Cup” as the Indians rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to pull out an exciting 5-4 win in extra innings in second day action at the annual “Battle of the Beach” here at Keesler Federal Park.

Biloxi wrestled away the “Cup” from the Warriors last season 6-3 in the same venue in the same event.

The win moves the Indians to 4-4 overall, and it marked the third straight win in less than a week for third-year head coach Hawtin Buchanan’s crew after they started the new season off at 1-4.

D’Iberville dropped to 3-6 with the loss.

Elsewhere on Saturday, home-standing Gulfport followed the solid mound work from starting pitcher Taevion Collier to a close 3-1 win over Pascagoula Saturday afternoon.

The Admirals moved above the .500 level to 5-4 with the decision, while the Panthers dropped to 3-6 overall.

“He was extremely competitive, we needed a big outing out of him and he provided it,” first-year GHS head coach Justin Edwards said of Collier.

Collier hurled just over six innings in picking up the win, as he scattered six hits, struck out six and walked four. Trevor Stennis came on in the seventh to record the last two outs and earn a save.

Tolar Raybourn had a game-high half of the six total hits for the Admirals in the winning attack, including a pair of doubles.

Both Biloxi and Gulfport will host games Monday night, as the Indians face Hernando and the Admirals take on Grenada.

It’ll mark the first action at BATB for Grenada and its Dandy Dozen senior standout Luke Romine.

The Ole Miss signee had a .359 batting average with 38 RBIs, 33 hits and nine home runs last season. Romine helped take Hernando to a MHSAA Class 7A title game appearance last season.

He won’t be the only Dandy Dozen pick on display Monday night, Ocean Springs hosts Jackson Prep and Arizona State signee Tre Bryant.

Bryant signee had a .383 batting average and a .509 on-base percentage with 44 hits, 55 RBIs and 18 stolen bases and helped Jackson Prep to its seventh consecutive MAIS baseball title last season.

Also on Monday night, Vancleave hosts Starkville.
