GULFPORT — Visiting St. Patrick rallied for five unanswered runs to pull out a 5-2 win over West Harrison Saturday afternoon.

The Fighting Irish trailed the home-standing Hurricanes 2-0 entering the top of the fourth inning but cut that deficit in half with a solo run in that stanza and then added two runs apiece in each of the fifth and seventh frames to head home with the win.

St. Patrick moves to 11-4 with the win, while West Harrison drops to 8-5 overall.

West Harrison’s Tyler Glazier and Cameron Sandel combined to give the Hurricanes that 2-0 lead as each recorded RBI-singles early in the game.

Gunner Eure’s run-scoring single in the fourth put West Harrison on the board at 2-1.

An inning later, Eli Bowen knotted the game up for SPHS with an RBI-single of his own, followed by Jacob Alexander’s run-scoring ground out that gave the Fighting Irish their first lead of the contest.

St. Patrick added a pair of insurance runs in the final inning when both Bowen and Nash Rubenstien scored on Hurricane errors.

Bowen and B.C Stoddard each had two hits apiece to pace St. Patrick at the plate, while Alexander drove in a game-high two runs.

Gunner Eure got the win with four frames of scoreless work in relief of Bennett Rimes.

Reece Parker had two hits for the Hurricanes.

Ryan Seymour took the loss for WHHS.
