OCEAN SPRINGS — This week’s “Baria Law Firm Game Ball of the Week” goes to Cannon Hensarling of Ocean Springs as presented by SouthMiss6 Sports.
Every week throughout the end of the school year, we will honor student/athletes across the “Southern Six” with our “Game Ball of the Week” sponsored by David Baria, Attorney-Mediator.
Hensarling, a versatile senior standout for the Greyhounds who is headed to Nicholls State, proved exactly why the Colonels and other collegiate programs were vying for his services over the past week as he guided OSHS offensively to 29 runs in just 10 innings of play.

In an 11-0 five-inning thumping of perennial state power Sumrall Friday, he came up big at both the plate and on the mound against the visiting Bobcats. Hensarling went 3-for-3 offensively with three singles and he drove in three runs. Also, he went the distance on the hill tossing the shortened game no-hitter and striking out eight while walking just one in earning the win.

Then, Tuesday night, in an 18-3 bashing of Biloxi in the Region 4-7A win for both teams, Hensarling collected a co-game high three hits and drove in a game-high four runs.

You can catch Hensarling and his teammates two more times against the Indians this week as OSHS hosts Biloxi Friday night and then the two teams reconvene in Biloxi again Saturday afternoon.
