PICAYUNE —This week’s “Baria Law Firm Game Ball of the Week” goes to Cooper Moreaux of Picayune as presented by SouthMiss6 Sports.

Every week throughout the end of the school year, we will honor student/athletes across the “Southern Six” with our “Game Ball of the Week” sponsored by David Baria, Attorney-Mediator of Bay St. Louis.

Moreaux, the Maroon Tide senior infielder/pitcher, enjoyed a productive week long span at the plate as Picayune opened Region 4-6A play with a 3-1 mark.

On Tuesday, the home-standing Maroon Tide shut out West Harrison 6-0 and Moreauux was a big reason why. Picayune collected 13 hits in the game-winning attack as Moreaux led the way with game-high totals in both hits with three and RBIs with four. He had a RBI-single as well as a three-run, bases clearing double with the sacks full and two outs in the bottom of the fourth frame at Kent Kirkland Field.

Moreaux finished the four game stretch with seven hits and seven RBIS. He also has a home run and a triple at the plate this season to go along with the top batting average on the team and he has a win on the pitching mound.

He and the Maroon Tide, which stand a solid 14-2 overall this season, host West Harrison again in Region 4-6A play Thursday night before playing the Hurricanes on the road Friday night.
