LYMAN — Harrison’s Central’s home field became a home away from home for D’Iberville Thursday and Friday.
Still win-less after four games in Region 4-7A play, the Warriors went on the road to the home of the Red Rebels and pulled off a pair of wins to clinch the three game series.
D’Iberville earned a close 3-2 win on Thursday here and then took the rubber match 5-2 on Friday to move to 2-4 in the region race. The Red Rebels fell to an even 3-3 in league play.
“It was great to take the series and keep us in the hunt for the post season,” DHS head coach Brent Martin said. “I give our guys all the credit in the world for responding Thursday and Friday, I was pretty tough on them Tuesday night after the loss and challenged them. They responded well! Credit to Harrison Central, that’s a solid club and their record is not any indication of who they are. They are well coached and have the grit and fight of their head coach in them.”
On Friday night, Kaden Allen came up big on the hill for DHS as he completed six and two-thirds innings to pick up the pitching win striking out a career-high 11 and scattering just four singles and walking three in the process.
Jackson Ulmer came on to strike out the final batter to earn a save.

The Warriors broke open a 2-2 tie in the top of the seventh stanza with a three run rally, as Cannon Wilson registered a key two-run single and Ayden Demoran had an RBI-single as well.
Wilson collected a game-high three RBIs, while Demoran, Jaylan Johnson, Cater Naron and Reyse Ladner all had two hits apiece in the winning effort. One of Ladner’s hits was an RBI-single, and Cannan West had a double.
Jaxson Moore had two hits and drove in a run for HCHS.
Hunter Gullett took the loss.

On Thursday night in game two, with the game again knotted up at 2-2 late in the contest D’Iberville’s Ayden Toncrey drove in the decisive run on a ground out in the top of the sixth to seal the 3-2 win.
Toncrey had two hits and drove in all three runs for DHS in the win, while Naron collected a game-high three hits.
Demoran also picked up the pitching win, in relief of Naron, with just over two frames of score-less and hit-less work as he struck out four of the seven outs he recorded. The duo combined on a three-hitter.
Bubba Harris went the distance on the hill for the Red Rebels and took the tough-luck loss striking out seven.
Kolten Beard had two of the three Red Rebel hits and he drove in a run.
