SOSO — Pearl River Central and West Jones will wage a battle for supremacy in Region 3-6A this week in a three game series.

The Blue Devils head to Jones County for game one Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Both teams sit at 3-0 after one week of play in the region race.

All four teams in Region 3-6A will qualify for the upcoming Class 6A South State playoffs this season, due to the fact that Jackson Jim Hill and Jackson Forrest Hill neither are fielding baseball teams this year.

Pearl River Central dropped Terry to 0-6 in league play last week with a three game sweep. Hattiesburg sits in third place in the region race at 3-3 so far.

The Blue Devils opened the series against the Bulldogs with a 6-4 win on the road, despite a two-hitter from a trio of Terry pitchers.

Sam Tuminello drove in two runs for PRC without the aid of a hit. Landyn Wilson had a hit and an RBI also.

Cole Bounds left the mound needing just one out to complete a perfect game to pick up the win. Konnor Cazenave got a save.

Then, on Thursday, PRC completely dominated Terry in Carriere in a doubleheader.

The Blue Devils won the opener 10-0 in just five frames as Ayden Radosta hurled the two-hit shutout.

J.J. Morreale collected a game-high three hits, including a triple, and he drove in a run while Tuminello added two hits including a double and drove in a game-high two runs as well.

In the nightcap, things got even worse for the Bulldogs as PRC rolled to a 17-2 win in just three frames thanks in large part to a nine run first inning.
