Three teams are battling for the final two playoff spots in Region 4-6A with two weeks left in regular season action.
Hancock made the biggest move among that trio last week by sweeping West Harrison in three games, while Long Beach bounced back with a pair of wins in less than 24 hours over Pascagoula to move into the third spot for now.

George County sits atop the region race at 7-2, while Picayune is 6-3. Both Pascagoula and Long Beach sit at 5-4, but the Bearcats have the tie-breaker over both the Panthers and Hancock. The Hawks are now 4-5 and West Harrison is still win-less at 0-9.
In the Kiln on Saturday, home-standing Hancock slipped past the Hurricanes 6-4 in the series finale of the affair.
Brandon Arcement, Jude Ulrich and Roston Ragon each had a hit and an RBI apiece for Hancock.
Chace Brown went the distance on the mound to register the complete game win, allowing seven hits, striking out six and walking three.
Reece Parker had two hits and drove in a run for West Harrison, while Cameron Sandel had two hits as well including a double.
Ryan Seymour suffered the loss for WHHS.

On Friday night, Hancock followed the outstanding work of Arcement on the hill to a 1-0 road win over the Hurricanes.
Arcement tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout striking out seven and walking none in the gem.
Gavin Necaise walked to lead off the game for the Hawks and came around to score the only run of the game two batters later on a passed ball.
The Hawks managed only three hits off of Hurricane hurler Dezi Curley who came within one out of throwing a complete game himself in taking the tough-luck loss.

Meanwhile, Long Beach beat visiting Pascagoula 7-5 Friday night in game two of that series.
The Bearcats trailed 4-2 entering the bottom of the sixth before they rallied for five runs to pull out the win.
Will Brady had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and an RBI to lead Long Beach offensively and Wayne Uulrich drove in two runs.
Cade Aherns picked up the pitching win with two innings of relief work after replacing Ulrich.
Knute Robinso had two hits and an RBI for the Panthers, while Sean Norvel had two hits also including a double.
Willie Sims took the loss after giving up four runs in that decisive sixth stanza.

Then, on Saturday the visiting Bearcats took the rubber match 6-2 thanks to a five run fourth frame.
Flynn James and Cayden Einhaus each had two hits apiece and drove in a run apiece for LBHS.
Walker Cooke worked almost six innings on the hill to earn the pitching win.
J.J. Trinidad had two hits and drove in a run for PHS.
Johan Baez took the loss.
