Prep Baseball: South State playoffs begin for six “Southern Six” squads this week

The south state playoffs begin Thursday night for the four lower classifications in the “Southern Six”, and there will be six area squads in action as the postseason starts.
In class 4A, Poplarville hosts Morton while Pass Christian travels to Mendenhall and Bay High heads to Northeast Jones in opening round play.

In Class 3A, St. Stanislaus hosted McLaurin in a doubleheader Thursday afternoon while St. Patrick travels to Enterprise Clarke Saturday.
In Class 1A, Resurrection faces Leland on the road Friday.
In Class 4A, Poplarville won Region 8-4A while Greene County finished second. Pass Christian finished third and Bay High fourth.

In Class 3A, West Marion won Region 8-3A, while St. Stanislaus finished second and St. Patrick third with Perry Central fourth.
In Class 1A, Enterprise-Lincoln finished first while Sacred Heart finished second with Resurrection third and Lumberton fourth.
