OCEAN SPRINGS — Ocean Springs left no doubt who the best team in Region 4-7A was this week.

The Greyhounds completed a three game sweep of their closest rival in the region race Friday night, dispatching Gulfport 4-1 to wrap up league play at an impressive 13-2 on the season. Ocean Springs secured its second straight Region 4-7A title Thursday night on the road in game two of the series with a 5-1 win.

“Anytime you can sweep a series in this division it’s big, and we played well all week.” second-year OSHS head coach Ryne Long said. “We really pitched it well, and played great defense. Jack (Jordan), Tristen (Fox) and Cannon (Hensarling) all had good outings and we were sharp out of the bullpen. I thought we were solid Offensively we left too many guys on base I thought but overall we played well.”
