BILOXI — St. Patrick is headed to the second round of the Class 3A South State playoffs for the second straight season.

The Fighting Irish overcame an early 5-0 deficit Monday night to dispatch Enterprise 8-6 and complete a sweep of the Bulldogs. St. Patrick took the series opener on Saturday on the road in another two run affair in the same type of come-from-behind fashion 9-7.

On Monday night, the Fighting Irish trailed 5-0 entering the bottom of the third frame before rallying for four runs to change the momentum. Jacob Alexander cracked a two-run double for SPHS and then two runs also scored on an RBI-single by Jasper Moran that the Bulldogs kicked around a bit.

St. Patrick tied the game up in its next at bat when Ayden Williams led off the fourth with a solo home run. B.C Stoddard’s RBI-single followed in the fifth to give the Fighting Irish its first lead of the night.

Alexander added an RBI-double in the sixth and Eli Bowen added a run-scoring sacrifice fly.

On Saturday, in game one, St. Patrick trailed 7-0 to the Bulldogs entering the top of the fourth before bouncing back to grab the win.
