Prep Baseball: Biloxi hopes to even up series with Oak Grove at home Monday night

BILOXI — Home-standing Biloxi looks to even up its Class 7A South State opening round playoff series with perennial state power Oak Grove Monday night.
The Indians fell on the road in a back-and forth 9-6 game Saturday night to open the match-up.

Jackson Irvin put Biloxi up 1-0 in the first with an RBI-single before the Warriors erupted for a five spot in the second to take a 5-1 lead thanks to a key two-run double by Eric Booth, Jr.
But Biloxi bounced back, as Lleyton Gunter had a two-run single in the top of the third and Bryk Bucklar followed with a run-scoring single to make it 5-4.
The Indians retook the lead in their next at bat non RBI-singles by both Connor Loftin and Gage Dalferes to make it 6-5.

But Oak Grove would end the game with four unanswered runs to take the win.
Bucklar started and suffered the loss for BHS.
Irvin had two hits to lead the Indians at the plate.
The game was originally scheduled for Friday night but delayed a day sue to inclement weather.
If Biloxi can force a game three in the series with a win Monday night, then the teams would reconvene in Oak Grove Tuesday night.
