HATTIESBURG — Pearl River Central and Hattiesburg will meet for the fifth time on the baseball diamond this season Monday night.

And the Blue Devils just hope its the last.

The Tigers host PRC in game two of the best-of-three Class 6A South State semifinals after the game was postponed for two days due to weather related issues. The Blue Devils bombed Hattiesburg 16-1 in game one at home Friday night.

The Blue Devils scored six runs in the first off of Tiger starter Amarie Jordan to take a quick and commanding lead they would never relinquish. The wheels then really fell of for the Tigers in the third frame, when PRC plated nine more runs to make it 15-1.

Hattiesburg didn’t help its own cause committing six errors and eight walks in the loss.

Luke Herring had two hits and drove in two runs to pace PRC at the plate, while Landyn Wilson tallied a big three-run double. J.J. Morealle added two RBIS to the explosive output, while Kendall Morrison had a double.

Ayden Radosta started and took the win.

Jordan suffered the loss.

While PRC has won three of the first four games over the Tigers this season, Hattiesburg’s only win over the Blue Devils came at home in the Hub City in Region 3-6A play a little over three weeks ago. Hill actually went the distance in that game to earn the win on the mound.

The Blue Devils would host a possible game three if needed Tuesday night in Pearl River County. The winner of this series faces the survivor of the Gorge County-West Jones series later this week in the Class 6A South State championship series.
