Prep Softball: Poplarville drops opener 10-3 to Purvis in Class 4A South State finals Wednesday

POPLARVILLE— Home-standing Poplarville took it on the chin against visiting Purvis 10-3 Wednesday night in the opening game of the Class 4A South State championship series.

Lindsey Lee allowed just three earned runs through five frames in the circle for the Lady Hornets, but still took the loss.

Addison Alexander had two hits for Poplarville while Lainey Merrit had a triple and Chloe Guidry and Daphne Rohrbacker each had a double for the Lady Hornets.

Poplarville is 10-10 as its heads to Purvis to try and keep its season alive.
