PEARL — A pair of Ocean Springs senior standouts picked up a big honor over the weekend.

Both Cannon Hensarling and Jack Jordan were named Class 7A First Team All-State by the Mississippi Coaches Association. The duo led the Greyhounds to a second straight Region 4-7A title, a 24-8-1 overall mark, and a second straight trip to the Class 7A South State semifinal round as well.

Hensarling was mainly an infielder, but also saw time on the pitcher’s mound, while Jordan has served as the ace of the OSHS staff the past two years and he also resides in the infield when not on the hill.

Another pair of “Southern Six” products also earned Class 7A Second Team All-Stat honors. Biloxi outfielder Adam Rugg and Gulfport relief pitcher Thomas Stennis picked up the honors.
